You know how everyone talks about how insane it is right before you start shooting. Yeah, it’s insane. Never enough time to get everything done and yet somehow in the end it all comes together. Brian feels like things are coming together remarkably well.

Things actually are coming along pretty well. Can’t tell you how happy I am to have Loren (AD) working hard on “Cell.” She’s already making my life so much less stressful

Set construction is slated to start… next Saturday! I’ll be going out to the location with Debbie (Sound Mixer) and going over sound concerns with Nick (Set Builder) before they get too far into building the set.

The thing I’m really excited about is Production Design. We’ve had some set-backs recently but in all our discussions about the history of the world we’ve come up with some really great ideas to give our set some real depth and texture that should make it jump off the screen. Some of it will definitely be done in post but we’re going to do as much practical on set as we can. If I wasn’t Directing and Producing I’d want to be dressing this set. Who know… maybe I will anyway. It’s going to be fun!

We’ll have some big announcements coming up soon to flesh out our crew. We should also have some more news about the “Music for Motion Media” party that we have coming up on the 23rd. This event keeps looking better and better. If you’re in Central Texas and you’re either in or want to be in the film, gaming or music industry… you should come to this event. I’ll hopefully have more news on that soon. Go ahead and get your tickets in advance to save a few dollars. It’s $15 at the door an $12 in advance if you go to the Austin School of Film’s site. Get your tickets here.

I also want to point you all to another web show that’s in production right now. “Western X” is a show I heard about a while ago. I just recently found their blog and they have some great stuff about their production. I like the fact that they made a model of a valley. Looks great in the test pics they show. It also convinces me that the best thing to ever happen to independent producers is the green screen. Well, that and After Effects. Take a second to look at their blog. I’m looking forward to seeing how this one comes along.
